| Profile |
| Ayers didn't perform all too well at the Combine, but he had an improved showing at the Combine, and what teams are getting with Ayers is a lot of talent that just needs to find a position. Initially believed to be a lock playing outside in a 3-4, Ayers could project as a SAM linebacker or even a down lineman in a 4-3 if he adds some bulk to his already muscular frame. He has a natural pass-rushing ability that is somewhat offset by a slight lack of instinct to be effective at the linebacker position. Ayers' speed was believed to have been his best asset before a reportedly-sub-4.6 time in the 40. Still, a first-round talent with a lot of room for improvement. Ayers showed big-time playmaking ability with two interceptions returned for touchdowns in 2009. |
