To say that scouts are high on Rendon is a vast understatement. The Pittsburgh Pirates, seemingly set at third base with Pedro Alvarez, would apparently be foolish to pass up on a talent like Rendon. A broken ankle followed by surgery in late July cast doubts as to whether he would stay at number one, but his abilities cannot be questioned. Rendon can hit for average and power and possesses one of the most fluent swings imaginable with outstanding hip rotation, pitch recognition, and patience. He plays excellent defense as well, as it would likely be acceptable to compare him to Evan Longoria. Depending on his physical development, moving him across the diamond to first or even second is not a stretch. Such a move could also depend on which organization Rendon ends up with.
