The consensus feeling on the son of the late Craig “Iron Head” Heyward is that he possesses outstanding versatility that could let him excel as a DE in either a 4-3 or a 3-4 scheme. He has great size and speed, but the biggest problem lies in his technique. Scouts have bemoaned the fact that Heyward often is too focused on getting to the quarterback and that in turn has hindered his ability to stop the run.
