The converted tight end can be hindered by his size, and his technique is still a work in progress as a tackle. But he rapidly improved this past year and is widely considered the top tackle prospect in this year's draft. He is actually an effective run blocker despite his big frame, perhaps even more so than a pass blocker. At 6'8 his pad level isn't what it needs to be, so it may not be too presumptuous to think that Solder is better suited, at least initially, to be a right tackle. But he has a very good chance to crack the top 10 in a class of offensive linemen that isn't as good as it has been in years past.
